PlaceMUS XR at BMTA 2026: Exploring Musical Heritage through Extended Reality

On 29 October 2026, PlaceMUS XR will take part in an event organised by the COLOURS project at the XXVIII Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo Archeologico (BMTA) in Paestum, Italy, alongside the other sister projects UNICHE and StratiGraph.

The event will bring together projects contributing to the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH), providing an opportunity to present digital tools, share ongoing research and explore different approaches to the documentation, interpretation and experience of Europe’s cultural heritage.

The programme will include presentations, discussions and live demonstrations, offering heritage institutions, researchers and professionals an opportunity to learn more about the technologies and services developed within the projects.

PlaceMUS XR: Digital Journeys through Europe’s Musical Heritage

PlaceMUS XR explores how extended reality technologies can contribute to the interpretation and experience of Europe’s musical heritage, connecting musical practices, historical places and cultural contexts through digital journeys.

During the public session, the project will introduce its approach to creating digital journeys across musical places in Europe through extended reality technologies.

In the afternoon, PlaceMUS XR will present Interlumo as part of the live demonstration activities at ArcheoVirtual, where visitors will have the opportunity to discover the tools presented by the participating projects and meet their teams.

The event will also provide an opportunity for exchange among the sister projects, exploring connections between their different research approaches and their contribution to the Cultural Heritage Cloud.
